Quarantine stories.

HP

Written and illustrated by Mindaugas Silinskis

Hello, everyone! My name is HP and I’m going to share my life story with you.

I have lived in a nice apartment with a loving family for about 5 years. “How did you end up here?”, you might ask.

Well, I think I would call myself an adopted member of the family. I was taken from a huge warehouse and shipped here by, I believe, three trucks.
As soon as I got here, I was provided with different kinds of software and I started helping them explore the world, listen to music, watch videos, study and play games.

It had been quite easy for me to do all the tasks until about one month ago, when I suddenly became way too popular.

They haven’t turned me off since. They have been moving me around from one room to another, even to the kitchen! I have been entertaining them with live concerts, movies, news (by the way, horrible news!), cooking shows and politics, politics, and more politics!

Oh, and all that learning online! And of course, never-ending chatting...people from all over the world have been speaking in me and through me. Seriously, it has been too much. I am tired, very tired, and I am pretty sure I have a fever.

Wait a second! They are using me now, as I speak. They have just typed something into the search box. Let me see... It says:
“Affordable, fast, cheap laptop, free shipping”. “What?! Are you thinking, what I’m thinking?

Am I going to have a sister? Brother? Cousin? Friend?”
“Whatever! Yes! Yes! Yes!”
“Wait a minute...”

“Oh, am I being replaced?” “Oh nooooo!”
